I know what your asking yourself, “Mustache Riot, I thought mustache rides were as good as it got?” Well think again my friends, because this is the real deal. You may be thinking, “What is this mustache riot, and how have I not heard of this delectable concoction of bass before?” Allow me to fill you in. Mustache Riot is the collaboration of the duo Natty Freq, containing bass producers, Boxmon and Notation, and Beatport’s 2010 Dubstep Breakout Artsit of the Year, We Bang. Mustache Riot is a fairly new project for these three Los Angeles based producers and Golden Child is one of their first offerings. As a whole, Golden Child has something that everyone can enjoy. To start their use of orchestral stringed instruments and their incorporation of a traditional piano adds an element musicality to their song that flows so well. The crossover between electronically produced music and traditional instruments is something we see appearing more and more in EDM these days, and the producers that can do it well bring whole new level of creativity to their productions. Once the song finally gets going, the listener is encompassed by voluptuous, resonant bass whomps and aggressive beats that will shake them to the core. To top it all off, Mustache Riot chose some iconic samples, that any Kung Fu or Wu Tang fan is sure to recognize. So check out what Mustache Riot has to offer below, and keep an ear out for new releases from these talented producers. Enjoy listening.
