Electric Forest Selection: Minnesota

Well Electric Forest goers, the time is quickly ticking by until festival time. Just today, Electric Forest released yet another addition of artists for the festival, and by the looks of them it is clear that this festival is going to be sheer chaos in the best way possible. What I have for you today is our next addition of our EF selection series and what better artist to select than bass music producer, Minnesota? I first heard Minnesota at the end of last summer on a party bus on the way to see Sound Tribe Sector 9 headline Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. What caught my attention about Minnesota was the uniqueness of his production. A lot of artist in the bass scene today go for the pure bass shock value. I’m talking massive hits, drops, whomps and transformer-esque noises. What is awesome about Minnesota is in his songs he builds these intense, resonant, melodies and pairs them up with voluptuous bass lines, and when it finally comes to the drop its like an explosion musical ecstasy. I had the good fortune of seeing Minnesota recently and he blew my mind. His live sets are like a musical journey that take you through a full spectrum of highs, lows and everything in between. If you find yourself at the Electric Forest this summer, please come join me front and center when Minnesota takes the stage. Its going to be a wild time.
